KEEPING IT LOCAL DUCK
Local and long-standing client Lymelight Boulevard were totally bowled over by the services of 3R, in their latest leisure venture, Duck Pin Bowling.
The two neighbouring companies have previously worked together renovating retail spaces to create recreational places at the centre. 3R’s history of fitting out Go Wild and Reel Games made them the natural refurbishment partner to refit the former pool hall, and totally refresh Lymelight Lane’s customer experience.
The team set to work relocating the entrance to Lymelight Lanes to be accessed directly from the main thoroughfare, installing a new reception that services attractions over two floors. A fully fitted out commercial kitchen including all plumbing, gas and electrical installation was installed to increase the venue’s opportunity to provide refreshments, extend dwell time and generate income from secondary spend.
A completely new lighting rig was introduced to light up the new Duck Pin bowling lanes, and construction of a bespoke enclosure to house the bowling apparatus all came within the scope of the project. The 20 x 16m space underwent complete redecoration, including fitting new flooring and on-brand colour scheme, incorporating point of sale graphics frames, and quirky signage that encourages customers to “Bowl Em Over Duck!”.
All works were completed in the agreed 12 week timescale and around the opening hours of the upstairs leisure attraction which continued to trade to members of the public during this time.
“Having previously worked with the 3R team we had no hesitation to work with them again on the project. The work was carried out to a high standard of finish and in a safe and considerate manner, which was important given the retail unit was still in use during the project. They went above and beyond agreed specification of works to suggest better and more suitable materials for the ambience of the space, durability and longevity costs.” Comments Michael Roberts Facility Manager
Outcome: 3R Projects delivered the full scope of the project within the designated 12 weeks, and renovation budget of £140k. Since the opening of the new venture, income for the space has quadrupled.
